The problem with Major meritocracies like what eminent tries to be is that merit is hard to quantify and those that think they know what merit is go out of their way to prove it and it means to the detriment of others ability to show merit. This Lightslingers attitude is colored by his previous experience at eminent where a competitive atmosphere meant to foster excellence caused capes to backstab each other. L
