== Synopsis ==
Taylor goes out in her costume ready to make her debut as a hero. However, upon approaching a police barricade to speak with the SRT captain on duty, she is immediately labeled as a villain and, upon the arrival of a hero team, assaulted and injured by Glory Girl. Glory Girl prepares to turn Taylor into the SRT, causing Taylor to panic and attack Glory Girl with her bugs. When her forcefield abruptly cuts out, Glory Girl becomes vulnerable to Taylor's swarm and drops Taylor to the ground in the confusion. Bruised and battered, Taylor blacks out.

Some time later, Taylor comes to in a bed, having been saved by the same group that was robbing the bank. She is introduced to the Undersiders — Grue, Regent, Bitch, and Deduce — and is eventually taken home by Deduce, civilian name Amara, who covers for Taylor and helps explain her absence to her mom and dad.

During lunch at Winslow, Amara approaches Taylor and invites her to hang out with Amara and the others. Taylor rejects Amara, telling her off and asserting that she never wants to associate with them. Galled by Amara's appearance, Taylor resolves to tell the heroes everything she knows about the Undersiders and goes to the Wards HQ to do so. She meets several Wards — Aegis, Clockblocker, and Vista — and is about to reveal what she knows when Shadow Stalker walks in. Through her bugs, Taylor immediately recognizes Shadow Stalker to be Sophia.

Shocked and confused, Taylor leaves the Wards HQ and takes a bus to the Undersiders' hideout, where she stays and talks with the Undersiders. After reconciliating with Amara, Taylor vents about Shadow Stalker, her bullying situation, and her trigger event, to which the others express sympathy. The conversation turns to lighter venues, and eventually Taylor leaves for home, feeling better.

Two weeks pass, during which Taylor begins spending more time with Amara at school, eating lunch and doing groupwork together. She still feels guilty about associating with villains but is happy to have a friend. In the present, Taylor and Amara eat lunch in the rain. They relax as Taylor feels the bugs around her and chats with Amara. Then, out of nowhere, they hear air raid sirens, signifying the arrival of an [[Endbringer]].
