One of the "icon" groups, the Attendant served as a symbol of a civilian movement. Their ideology focused on moving forward slowly, with caution and remembrance of what had been lost.<ref name="1.8">[[Daybreak 1.8]]</ref> They moved slowly, securing and improving individual neighborhoods.<ref name="1.8"/><ref name="2.1 e2">“I don’t know if I’m hurting my chances saying this, but I’m kind of crossing my fingers you guys are going with the Shepherd’s name and brand, but the Attendant’s approach.”<br><br>Whorl smiled again.  “We might be.”<br><br>“I like the approach,” I said.<br><br>“How do you interpret it?”<br><br>“Giving people security.
