===Background===
She was abandoned by her family because of her teen pregnancy. [[Valefor|Her kid]] was an exceptionally early trigger,<!--or she is seriously delusional--> manifesting powers before he started walking. She was somehow found and saved by [[Cauldron]], which offered her [[Cauldron Vial|a deal]]. She was lucky enough to gain power that allowed her not uphold her side of the deal, unless she wanted to.<ref name="II15.z" />

Joined the Fallen and presumably founded the Mathers family. Had several children from multiple different fathers, such as [[Valefor]] and the one who called himself Lionheart. She also traded children to other branches in order to get firepower back.<ref name="R2"/>

Mama Mathers attempted to kidnap and brainwash several [[Wards]]. One of the first of those was Sunflower, brought in by [[Valefor]].<ref name="II15.z" /> However, Sunflower was successfully rescued by the [[heroes]].<ref name="II15.z">[[Interlude 15.z II|Interlude 15.z]]</ref>

===Post-[[Battle against Echidna|Echidna]]===
Her son, [[Valefor]], attempted to claim [[Brockton Bay]] for the Fallen.<ref><!--talking disputing the undersiders claim-->[[Interlude 20.y]]</ref> Elijah failed and was blinded by the cities warlord, [[Skitter]], in the ensuing battle.<ref name="21.3">[[Imago 21.3]]</ref> It is unknown how she reacted to this.

The godless don’t get it.  The rumors are out that the world ends in a matter of months - one of the family elders even brought an ex-Ward into the fold, and she says they believe it too.  They might be faithless, but they know their shit.<br><br>Mama Mathers is a little off in some ways.  Smart as shit, but off.  When she wanted to send members of the family to every place with ‘fall’ in the name and a lot of places with religious names, it was an excuse for some milder parts of the family to congregate.  Fall River was one.
