Prior to Taylor being outed as Skitter, Danny had expressed that he no longer felt that he held significance in her life, and lamented the fact that they didn't have a truly close relationship that parents traditionally tend to have with their children (and faults himself for the situation). When [[Emma Barnes|Emma]] attempted to use this tentative relationship to bully Taylor, it had forced Taylor to confront some insecurities in regards Danny, and she had realized that she was uncertain how her father truly felt about her. She was uncertain if Danny loved her, or if he had in fact blamed her for Annette's death. After she is outed, Taylor comes to believe that Danny is afraid of what she had become. This would later be vindicated however, as he is demonstrated to still be a loyal and caring father.
