After being shot through the head by [[Flechette]], Leviathan fell over, using his right claw to hit the ground. The impact began a catastrophic cascade, crumbling the ground around Leviathan and creating a massive sinkhole into which water began to flow. The creation of the lake caught many capes within its confines, allowing Leviathan to execute them freely.<ref>[[Extermination 8.5]]</ref> Its formation also damaged an Endbringer shelter and cracked the interior walls of [[Coil]]'s base.<ref name=":0" />

Following the battle against Leviathan, the lake was cordoned off with barriers and chain link fences. There were some who took shelter within the half-submerged buildings throughout the lake.<ref name=":1" />
