==Abilities and Powers== Jesse's power is tied to sleep and activity. When she wakes up after being asleep she has no 'charge' with which to summon her construct. She must remain awake for a while to "recharge" her ability.<ref name="13.10">[[Snare 13.10]]</ref><ref name="13.5" /> To actually create and summon her construct she has to fall asleep, creating a new body and controlling it while her own body sleeps. The new bodies can take many forms and possess powers of their own, but using her power is easier the more "biologically stable" the body she makes is.<ref name="R7">As far as I'm aware, people tend to imagine that Genesis can be anything. In reality, she has a few seconds of half-asleep thinking to form concrete mental pictures, before her (dead; disconnected from outside/Eden resources) passenger steps in and fills in the remainder of the blanks.<br/><br/>This is why she has a tendency to go for bulkier, simple constructions. Giant crab-men and armored knights, or tentacle-limbed monstrosities. She can do complex things (jelly prison for Shatterbird, water-suction/spitting slug), but these complexities tend to come with a vastly lower/weaker construction and core stats for the creation. - [https://redd.it/2xpn06 Comment by] wildbow on Reddit</ref> Stable in this case means creating a form that could reasonably exist, with functional biological functions and similar,<ref name=SB1> :If she just go for simpler construct it gets stronger "stats", can't she just go for some very simple construct that has very basic superpowers like invulnerability, super strength and regen and because the base stats would be very high she would be at something like Alexandria level?<br/><br/>Any powers she gives the creation have to be workable at a physical level. She can't grant superpowers, except in the sense that you could have a given quality by virtue of physical construction. Flight is fine if she has a built in air-jet or aerodynamic frame. Invincibility isn't possible, but a stone skinned exterior is. - [http://forums.spacebattles.com/posts/16690479 Comment by Wildbow] on Spacebattles</ref> forms outside of real world biology, while more useful, are consequently weaker.<ref name="R7"/> Once she activates her power, she has a set amount of time to visualize the form she wants to use, complete with any organs or mechanisms to allow for special abilities. Failure to include vital organs means her power will drain her reserves, while other forms may lack the ability to move properly if she doesn't pay attention to limbs and the like.<ref name="13.5" /> It takes her at least two minutes to produce a new form.<ref name="13.3">“Genesis here. What?”<br/><br/>"Mannequin en route to my territory for some kind of revenge against me for our last fight. How fast can you pull a body together?”<br/><br/>"Two minutes.”<br/><br/>“He’ll be there in five. Clear people out of the way, and put together a form that can take a beating and hamper him.” <br/><br/>"On it.”<br/>[...]<br/>Mannequin stood in the center of the road, his back to us. Half a dozen of my people were lying on the road, unconscious or dead. I couldn’t see any blood. There were a couple more people in nearby buildings that had fallen as well. How had he reached them? Why hadn’t Genesis and Sierra been able to get everyone out?<br/><br/>A quiet horror ran through me like ice water.<br/><br/>Genesis, too, was on the road, in the process of dissolving. She’d taken on the form of something like a stegosaurus crossed with a scorpion, all brawn and armor plating, with a long, prehensile, wickedly spiked tail. He’d beaten her. - [https://parahumans.wordpress.com/2012/08/04 Excerpt] from [[Snare 13.3]]</ref> Her creations faded when she woke up.<ref name="13.5">[[Snare 13.5]]</ref> The time lag from switching over forms means that if the situation changes fast enough she can come to a conflict with the wrong tools, impacting her usefulness at times.<ref>“What happened?” I asked Genesis, trying not to look at Grue.<br/><br/>She glanced between the two of us. “Realized Mannequin was using a gas, got a form together to fight that and occupy him, like you recommended, but he wasn’t there when I reformed. Burnscar was.”<br/><br/>“Mannequin forfeited his turn. Burnscar went up next,” I explained.<br/><br/>“Ah.”<br/><br/>“You manage to stop her?” Grue asked.<br/><br/>“No. I wasn’t prepared to fight her, but she couldn’t really hurt me either. She left.”<br/><br/>“Can you get a body together to fight the fires?” I asked, hugging my arms against my chest.<br/><br/>“I’ll try. My reserves are low.”<br/><br/>“Thank you.”<br/><br/>“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to stop them.” - [https://parahumans.wordpress.com/2012/08/07 Excerpt] from [[Snare 13.4]]</ref> {| class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed wikitable" style="width:100%" |Demonstrated Forms ! scope="col" | |- | A "triceratops-bull-cyborg thing" that could charge through doors.<ref name="6.1">[[Tangle 6.1]]</ref> A "lady knight in shining armor" that could handle men with guns.<ref name="6.1" /> An eight-foot-tall muscular figure like a gargoyle, demon or dragon, with four talons, pebble-like scales, and a short tail. A blurry, beige and yellow, vaguely human-shaped figure coalesced into being. The shape then sharpened into features and alter in hue until there was the figure of a teenage girl, vaguely cartoonish.
