==History== ===Background=== Cask triggered while trying to find a cure for his unspecified physical ailment; His power allows him to stave off the effects of said ailment without curing it decisively, rendering him reliant on his own output to survive. Lawrence has been a member of the Wards and Protectorate since 1998, but maintained a strictly part-time position until he finished his college degree. He volunteered for placement in Anchorage because he felt the would be ‘behind’ if he were to take on full duties at a more established department. He also noted, quote, “I like the cold.” <!-- <ref name="PRT QuestDoc">[https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Swjz8BZZNE4bq6lTkHanTK4sJ-K_xVlFudxA16mYjH4/edit#bookmark=id.6vjumvxrfb2j PRT Quest document 15-16]</ref>. most of the above was from the PRT quest document unacceptable and sloppy needs a rewrite https://forums.spacebattles.com/posts/13459972 power testing results ► Cask Power Test Results Judging by past data, and observing over the course of half a day, we were able to assess that Cask can produce one dose per four hours. He tends to brew multiple doses at once, but splitting his attention between them only delays the production. Four to five doses may be created a day. Doses have a shelf life of roughly thirty-six hours, but expire slowly enough that we can say they last forty-eight hours… after that mark, the decrease in efficacy is rapid enough that imbibing the dose isn’t worth the time and effort. Cask reports (anecdotal) that he can comfortably keep eight doses on hand, and tends to rotate the production to maintain a regular stock, though the stock varies in the particulars as he experiments. As his time is otherwise occupied, he has been keeping only five or six on hand as of late, and he reports that if his patrol schedule continues, he may have to reduce it down to four to ensure he gets enough sleep. He reports that he can maintain (bringing in new formulas as the old ones rotate), in any forty-eight hour window: Two general fortitude elixirs for his personal use, one consumed each morning One healing elixir, aimed at addressing general and surface damage. One elixir for enhancing strength, endurance, and physical performance. One dose for perception, mental acuity, concentration. One more healing dose aimed at addressing traumatic injury. One dose for preventative cases, against toxins, powers or other things that might impair focus, emotion or the mind (varies depending on dose) One ‘wild card’ dose that varies depending on his whim or inspiration. As of late, given his number of patrols, he’s taken to the following instead: Two fortitude elixers for personal use. One healing elixer, nonspecific. One noxious gas, to impair focus and temporarily blind, deafen, numb. One elixer for strength, endurance and performance. One elixer for general use against toxins, poisons or disease, when possible. He can also create doses to counteract poisons, venoms and disease, to reinforce strength, agility or fortitude specifically (to greater effect than a broader physical performance increase), protect against heat or cold while enhancing general durability, and he can create doses with general deleterious effects, effectively reversing any of the above effects by impairing the abilities instead. The doses are non-toxic, to all appearances, chalky in taste, and all doses appear to take hold over five minutes, in a very smooth, steady manner. They are not nutritious on their own, and regular consumption could lead to problems with malnutrition, as they tend to fill the stomach and do away with appetite. Cask states that he can mix them as vitamins and protein, to counter this problem, at the cost of taking more time to consume, and a larger volume. They also produce, our intern test subject reported, eerily healthy stool and great quantities of dark urine. All waste was deemed healthy. Cask is amenable to altering his pattern and changing up which doses are available, though he says he’d be happiest with some leeway to experiment within certain bounds and improve a formula. He can also get certain doses to individuals on a schedule. Cask does not possess any enhanced knowledge about the body or physiology, though he is well learned from personal study. This raises interesting questions that this particular lab cannot answer. Either Cask possesses knowledge he’s tapping into on a subconscious level, or the influence of a dose on the body acts as an override rather than interfacing with the body itself. - Dr. Rowland.-->
