In 2002, the first Protectorate department was set up in Canada.<ref name="PRTM"/> The Guild later reorganized.

On May 9th, 2005, [[Leviathan]] attacked the island of Newfoundland. The defending heroes failed to drive him off fast enough, and Leviathan managed to sink the entire island, killing half a million people including [[Andrew Richter|Andrew Richter.]]
