==History==
Challenger was a member of the [[Protectorate]]. Although it is unknown when she joined the [[Brockton Bay]] Protectorate as she was involved in an incident in a past city,<ref name="II12.none e3" /> she was, at the very least, a local member when [[Victoria Dallon]] was eight or nine years old.<ref name="II17.3 e1">“Where the hell do I even start?” Kid Win asked.  “I never was much of a teacher.  There used to be those school events every couple of months where the top students and most improved students would each get one-on-one hang outs with the Protectorate or the Wards for the day, I dunno how much attention you paid to that stuff.”<br><br>“Little superhero obsessed Victoria?  A lot.  There was actually an issue when I won the one year.  I was supposed to partner with Challenger but people thought the girl with superhero parents didn’t need the experience.”<br><br>Kid Win snorted.  “What happened?  I don’t even remember Challenger.”<br><br>“I gave up my spot.  Then I went home and ''crieeed''.”<br><br>“Oh no,” he said.<br><br>“In my defense, I was eight or nine.” - [[Sundown 17.3]]</ref> 

Challenger fought against [[Lung]] when he came to [[Brockton Bay]] for the first time.<ref>“It was the name of the group I joined when I came to America.”<br><br>“See, that’s what I don’t get.  You’re a badass, fine.  You tested the waters, took on a whole team of local heroes, and you walked away.  Right?”<br><br>“I fought Armsmaster, Dauntless, Miss Militia, Velocity, Challenger, Assault and Battery,” he said.  “Yes.” - [[Interlude 22.y]]</ref> She was still on the roster as of 2010 when [[Kid Win]] was a member of the Brockton Bay [[Wards]].<ref>“Crack some skulls,” Challenger said, as she fit her headgear into place.<br><br>“''No'',” Battery said.  “We avoid trouble while we’ve got the Wards riding along.  Or we set a good example.”<br><br>Challenger rolled her eye, looking at Aegis, who matched the expression.  Good example indeed.  She gave Kid Win a push on the shoulder, and he looked uneasy in smile and posture both. - [[Heavens 12.none]]</ref> However, she left the team before the events of [[Worm]] in April 2011: it is unknown if she transferred to a different city or died.<ref>His posture relaxed. Would you be willing to come to the Protectorate Headquarters and present that information to the team?”<br><br>My heart leapt.  Meeting the local Protectorate, with Miss Militia, Triumph, Velocity, Dauntless, Battery and Assault?  I could imagine seeing their reactions to everything I’d found, telling them about my fight with Bitch, maybe about my part in the fight with Lung, if Armsmaster was cool with that.
