==Abilities and Powers== Seir's ability is two-fold. First, he noisily blasts out shadowy lines, where these strands land, on any surface, silhouettes made of shadow appear.<ref name="I5d e2">Seir raised a hand. There was a sound, halfway between a rumble and drumming, almost a stampede, and curling lines of black spilled from Seir’s palm. The dozen or so lines didn’t curl so much as they bounced, each moving in a smooth half or quarter circle before stopping, curving back or at a right angle to carry on its way.<br/><br/>Where they hit solid surfaces, they exploded into rough silhouettes of Seir, mask and all. Each was as black as the lines – like gaps in reality rather than mere black that absorbed the light of the sun. Each had eyes that glowed as they looked around- one human eye where it peered through the horse’s eye socket, and one of the horse’s eyes.<br/><br/>One, twenty feet above the ground, tore the security camera from the corner of the building. Another appeared beside the store employee, who was running now that she’d heard the sound and saw them. It snatched her up.<br/><br/>Seir became shadow, and the figure with the girl in its arms became Seir.<br/><br/>Others were turning over trash cans, breaking glass in car windows. Ten in all. The ones that finished doing their damage disappeared. - [https://www.parahumans.net/2018/03/13/shadow-interlude-5d Excerpt] from [[Interlude 5d II]]</ref> The connective lines count as living tissue for some powers under the [[Manton Effect]].<ref>“I think the cords are counting as living tissue!” Vista called out -[https://www.parahumans.net/2018/04/14/pitch-6-1/ Excerpt] from [[Pitch 6.1]]</ref> As long as clones are created, and there can be as many as twelve, possibly more, Seir is able to swap places with the clones. Further, these clones can act independently of Seir, presumably following his directions and general intent. The clones and lines can be affected by powers (such as forcefields<ref>The Wretch tore through the shadow and several of the surrounding channel's of Seir's energy - [https://www.parahumans.net/2018/04/14/pitch-6-1/ Pitch 6.1]</ref>, Tinker guns<ref>a cape used a tinker gun to obliterate one while narrowly missing Narwarl , while a forcefield appeared in a position to bisect the other - [https://www.parahumans.net/2018/04/14/pitch-6-1/ Pitch 6.1]</ref>, and an unspecified Blaster power<ref name=":0">Another cape blasted him and he dissolved into wisps of shadow - [https://www.parahumans.net/2018/04/14/pitch-6-1/ Pitch 6.1]</ref>) but not by (at least) tasers<ref>She jabbed out with a taser and touched only shadow left behind - [https://www.parahumans.net/2018/04/14/pitch-6-1/ Pitch 6.1]</ref> as they presumably lack a body to conduct the electricity. When hit the shadowy energy tends to dissipate<ref name=":0" /> but it's not clear how durable they are/how hard they have to be hit to do so.
