Shatterbird's induction into the Slaughterhouse Nine was the last time more than one of its "candidates" survived the Nine's tests previously to their arrival in [[Brockton Bay]] in 2011, and she presumably won her place in the Nine by killing the other candidate(s).<ref name="I12">“That’s not really a test,” Shatterbird spoke, “There hasn’t been a round of testing since I joined the group where we ''didn’t'' whittle it down to one candidate.”<br><br>
