Publicly, Circus was one of the more successful solo villains around Brockton Bay, working as a thief. Her powers made her both quick and versatile enough to win or slip away if she crossed paths with a hero. At some point, she was offered a position on the Undersiders and vehemently refused, apparently remaining independent.<ref name="6.7" />
