When the Simurgh had attacked Madison, she’d copied Haywire’s technology to open a gate to a building much like this one.  A research facility. Doesn’t fit with what we know of alternate Earths. Breakdown of Haywire’s research says we can’t get to alt. Earths that are too close to our own.  Closest Earth to our own is Aleph, and deviation from that world started 30 years ago, the moment Scion arrived.  Anyone over 30 was born in both worlds, anyone under 30 wasn’t, or the odds are almost impossible (same sperm, same egg, same time of conception required to have the same kid, and that’s ignoring all the environmental influences during the pregnancy, and everything post-pregnancy that shapes the personality.)-->
==Abilities and Personality==
Professor Haywire was a Tinker specializing in "interdimensional tech." He created general tinker-tech creations of power suits and laser rifles that he would outfit himself and his minions with whenever he needed to secure the funds and materials needed for his experiments. Haywire also created things like 'tag' ammunition that temporarily shunted the victim into another reality, along with ammunition that could sink into one reality to get around an obstacle and surface in the original reality to strike its target. Some of his enduring creations were viewing lenses to see what was occurring in other realities and multidimensional portals that could be used to travel between realities.<ref name="R1">Interdimensional tech. Multidimensional projectiles, guns that fired 'tags' that shunted people into other realities for a time, created doors between realities, a lens that could be tuned (like a radio station) to peer into different realities. He could also build basic tinker stuff (power armor, ray guns) - All of this came with costs - the inter-reality stuff was expensive to build, and all the while, he had to endure multiple personalities. Because of his powers he was in constant communication with two other versions of himself on alternate Earths. This presumably helped him to set up much of his inter-dimensional technology in the first place. The [[Portal]]s that were created by his technology played a large part in how society would develop in later years.

The Simurgh used some of Haywire's technology (stored in a vault) during her attack on [[Madison|Madison, Wisconsin]]. This technology was what brought over the [[The Travelers|Travelers]] into Earth Bet.

[[The Wardens]] appropriated Haywire's tech for interdimensional communication and as a counter-measure for the [[the Simurgh|Simurgh]]'s interference.<ref name="II20.a">[[Last 20.a]]</ref>
