Consider the pain levels that skitter has dealt with, or rather, the lack of pain levels. She's been beaten pretty badly from time to time, but the most obvious case for her having some sort of mental or physiological control over pain was when she had a bolt pass through her shoulder blade courtesy of Flechette, and it had to be removed by a doctor in a crude medical environment not much better than a battlefield. Her actions after that point did not indicate a whole lot of pain from the wound. Even though the shoulder blade was not shattered (due to the phasing nature of the shaft), the muscles involved in a front-to-back shoulder wound are significant, and it did need to be cut out. And it did have to be opened up enough to allow a grinder to get to the bone (on BOTH sides) to grind down the shaft. Enhanced body control? Enhanced pain tolerance?
