The '''Attendant''' were a hero team active in [[the City]] following [[Gold Morning]]. They have now rebranded into [[The Shepherds]].
==Methods & Goals==
One of the "icon" groups, the Attendant served as a symbol of a civilian movement. Their ideology focused on moving forward slowly, with caution and remembrance of what had been lost.<ref name="1.8">[[Daybreak 1.8]]</ref> They moved slowly, securing and improving individual neighborhoods.<ref name="1.8"/><ref name="2.1 e2">“I don’t know if I’m hurting my chances saying this, but I’m kind of crossing my fingers you guys are going with the Shepherd’s name and brand, but the Attendant’s approach.”<br><br>Whorl smiled again.  “We might be.”<br><br>“I like the approach,” I said.<br><br>“How do you interpret it?”<br><br>“Giving people security.  Moving slowly, with measured steps, informed by the lessons of the past. The Attendant began as a single team. After [[the Shepherds]] self-combusted, they were absorbed into the Attendant.<ref name="2.1 e1"/> There was some debate over whether they would change their name and iconography to reflect the merge, perhaps even adopting the Shepherds' name and logo.<ref name="1.8"/><ref name="2.1">[[Flare 2.1]]</ref>

This seems to be what happened.<ref name="3.6 e1">There were screens for [[Advance Guard]], [[Foresight]], the Attendant, the Shepherds, and smaller teams like the [[Kings of the Hill]], the Wayfinders, and the Navigators.  The screen for the Attendant was still up, but it was dark, only the faint outline of the Attendants’ icon on the screen.
