Q.J. can generate 'hard light' shells around objects and individuals, then mobilize them for a duration before they expire. These images can be made to follow a set path, turn corners, and move in whatever manner Q.J. sees fit. The images break after five to ten seconds or when subjected to an impact or obstacle that would block their continued movement.

Wildbow: Honestly, bit of a cop-out answer, but depends on the department

Ridtom: Hm

Wildbow: Technically parents can force the kid to join and the PRT can march them in and twist their arm, but that's a recipe for disaster

so most will be gentler.

*******

Wildbow: Obviously there are cases where it just gets messy, like a parent wanting to control/force the join and the child resisting, but these are often negotiated and if the parent is cooperating then the PRT has a way of tracking the kid.

'we'll keep an eye on him and keep the door open, just phone us when he's leaving the house'

Wildbow: It's kind of interesting to think about, but I imagine there could be a PRT department specializing in recruiting runaways, or negotiating the tricky parent/child relationships.

snifferblisters: CASA for Capes.

Wildbow: Even just having something like Miss Militia appearing on the regular while the kid is patrolling

"Hi there." "leave me alone" "Can't legally do that, kid."

Personality[edit]

Q.J. as been diagnosed with ODD, oppositional defiant disorder. He has displayed a high resistance to authority and discipline, an entitled attitude, rudeness well past usual bounds, and is exceedingly confrontational. <ref>► Psych Report: Feint
The bad news is that I can confirm the ODD diagnosis after a thorough discussion with Feint. The good news is that despite the ‘disorder’ appellation, ODD is generally something that can be managed. Strict attention and adherence to the general rules of ODD will see him become manageable. A good way to consider the issue might be a feral child - someone raised by animals or with no human contact. They’ll never regain what they lost -in Feint’s case this would be a sense of discipline and social order- but they can be retrained with care and extensive patience. - Department Sixty Four, PRT Quest thread ii p32</ref>

Appearance[edit]

Q.J. is described as an undersized young man with a shaved head. As Feint, he wears a royal purple and white costume and a helmet designed to look like two masks with each mask facing a different direction.

Abilities and Powers[edit]

Q.J. can generate 'hard light' shells around objects and individuals, then mobilize them for a duration before they expire. These images can be made to follow a set path, turn corners, and move in whatever manner Q.J. sees fit. The images break after five to ten seconds or when subjected to an impact or obstacle that would block their continued movement.

He has also shown that he can create images in vast quantities in order to obscure vision.

History[edit]

Background[edit]

Q.J. set out as an independent cape for a time, selling his services to heroes and villains both, until his parents discovered the activity. His parents applied for his acceptance to any available team, before the Anchorage team became a reality. When the program was finalized, the PRT reached out to the parents to confirm his acceptance.
