"Way of life", in Hebrew, would be דרך חיים, derekh khayim (kh as in German ch not English ch). That doesn't sound like "Dracheheim" at all, which would also be transliterated as דראכהיים or something similar enough, i.e it doesn't even look similar.

}}Dracheheim is a settlement located on an alternate, remote Earth.

The locals, given the choice to stay on the alternate Earth or return to Earth Bet, elected to stay and start from scratch. As of Teneral, the locals are attempting to domesticate beasts of burden referred to as tarpan and are in the process of reinforcing and improving their homes. The people of Dracheheim speak a language that Defiant is unable to speak and they keep a a distance from his Pendragon II that watches over the city from a nearby hill. Dragon assists with constructing power sources, infrastructure and providing the townspeople with information, although she tries to let them do it all on their own whenever possible. It is here that Dragon and Defiant consider building their home "with a white picket fence".

History[edit]

After Gold Morning, the townspeople had been given a choice: to remain on the alternate Earth or to return and try to rebuild on Earth Bet. Those that chose to stay formed crude lodgings and tools and used those to subsist until they could fashion better things. By the end of the first month, the townspeople had reinforced their homes and began to store food for the winter.

The townspeople were helped by Dragon who worked on power, infrastructure, information and pulling information from her libraries though she largely tried to allow them to do things on their own. The town came to the brink of being on an industrial age though Dragon had already started preparing the town for the digital age.

Trivia[edit]

 • Dracheheim is presumably located on Earth He as it was mentioned as being under the protection of the Guild and the home to the non-English speakers from Western Europe and North Africa.
 • "Drache" is the German word for "dragon". "Heim" is the German and Norwegian equivalent of the English word "home". Put together, "Dracheheim" means "dragon home" or "home of the dragon", though a more authentical way of spelling this would be "Drachenheim".
