The Swords were focused on providing a fast response to crisis. They're the first answer to A and S class threats and their members generally lean offensive.

The Spades focus on peacekeeping via force and often work on lowering crime rates and dismantling gangs. They're often deployed to cities with high rates of villainy to help local heroes organize into an effective force.

The Wands are a suit with a broad focus. They're the problem solvers, cape researchers, and the ones to answer short-term crisis that aren't a matter of offense, economics, or inter-group. They are otherwise supplementary and utility focused, assisting other groups with tinkers, movers, and investigators.

The Clubs are generally focused on support and defense. They're the answer to natural disasters, evacuations, and recovery efforts, but often assist other suits by making front lines tougher or bodyguarding fragile members. They have a strong body of masters, defensive shakers, brutes, and sensory thinkers.

The Cups are the group with the most control over the Suits as a whole. They focus on group liasons and management, including team oversight, tracking gang activity and major figures, identifying priority targets, and overseeing the hiring/firing process. They also focus on Suit relations with other groups and gangs and dabble in espionage. The Cups are primarily masters and strangers.

The Hearts are the central PR wing for the Suits and have a focus on liasons with non-cape groups, such as the police, courts, and media. They are scattered and disparate, operating through a command structure. Individual members are often sent out with specific to enable that team to work most effectively with local bodies. They're also partially investigative, looking into suspicious news/political activity to weed out villains.

The Coins are the highest-level investigators. They focus on the digital sphere, economics and espionage, and work from the top down to identify problems. They're predictive and preventative, and they don't often see field action due to their focus on tracking markets, mapping out activity zones, and predicting problems. There are a few tinkers in the group, but it's primarily thinkers.

The Diamonds are the counterpart to the Coins, taking the cases they've handed off. They're an investigative body focused on cleaning up the aftermath and dealing with economics, the black market, criminal informants, and the like. They many thinkers, but a large chunk of the suit is made up of offensively oriented capes with relevant backgrounds, such as a blaster accountant or an ex-detective striker. <ref>https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1hUWerBTGQdona0f9o_pN0bkfj2jXn4kDyIrTti7s7ew/mobilebasic</ref>

A Divide in Suits.

UK-European parahuman organization ‘The Suits’ may be facing some restructuring with recent roster changes and conflicts that followed the disastrous attacks in December 2011.

The Suits have traditionally been divided into sub-groups, named after the suits of Spade, Diamond, Club, Heart, Sword, Coin, Wand, and Cup. Each group has a specific focus, ranging from general patrols to public relations or dealing with more abstract crises, and each group has a hierarchy, topped by Knave, Queen and with King at the very top.

In the December attack, the leadership of Heart, Sword, Wand and Cup were all killed or left in a state where they were unable to maintain their positions. The influx of new members with new positions has unbalanced the group, introducing a number of new ideas and practices that conflict with the old guard. The King of Spade’s attempts to step in and regulate the actions of the Knave of Sword’s groups caused the very public conflict BNN wrote about last month. This may have encouraged the divide.

Matters weren’t helped by the fact that the groups of Heart and Cup have traditionally maintained the strongest connections to the public and public relations, and the more established, senior factions now have few options at their disposal in reaching out or correcting assumptions, which may impact funding.

Things have now reached a climax, with open talk of dissolution of two or more of the new factions. The Knave of Hearts has openly stated that she may reach out to the more beleaguered and understaffed United States Protectorate team, who are already suffering from a public relations standpoint. Should the members join, it’s likely they will establish themselves in the East Coast, which may enable or encourage a shuffling of members between all present teams, expanding any team already prepared to staff new parahumans. It is not yet known if the Suits will set up new teams or reduce its roster.

Formed out of individuals and duos, early on hurting unit cohesion. The arrival of the Simurgh was a formative experience for the institution.[citation needed] The Suits received assistance and personnel from Cauldron.<ref name="SB2">Absent Cauldron's meddling, there's no PRT for one thing.
