Appearance
Mimi is described as twentyish, with badly cut dark brown hair,<ref name="10.6">Parasite 10.6</ref> green eyes,<ref name="11.c"/> and a vertical row of cigarette burns on each cheek,<ref name="13.4">Snare 13.4</ref> from the bottom of each eye to her jaw. Her skin was pale.<ref name="11.c">Interlude 11c (Anniversary Bonus)</ref>
Taylor described her voice as "like an actor reading the lines from a script without actually emoting them".<ref name="13.4"/>
On one occasion, she wore a red t-shirt and black jeans.<ref name="13.4"/> On another, she wore a red dress and went barefoot.<ref name="11.c"/>
Personality
Burnscar's mental state was influenced by her power; if she didn't use it, she would become depressed, but the more she used it the more reckless she became.<ref name="12.x">Interlude 12.x</ref> She felt guilty about the things she had done when she wasn't using her power, and would use her power to escape that feeling.<ref name="11.c"/>
Mimi liked reading graphic novels.<ref name="I13.5"> Interlude 13.5 (Donation Bonus)</ref>
Her test for prospective members of the Nine was to force them to face their greatest fear, although that wasn't always possible.<ref name="13.4">Snare 13.4</ref>
One of Burnscar's treasured memories was talking with Labyrinth at the Parahuman Asylum when they were both having good days. She saw Elle as a friend. Burnscar didn't seem to notice when the girl was sarcastic.<ref name="11.c"/>
Relationships
Elle
Burnscar wanted to come to the Bay in order to meet her former friend Labyrinth, but she didn't want Labyrinth to actually join the Slaughterhouse Nine, as she was very fond of Labyrinth and didn't wish for her to be corrupted or put in danger of being killed by Burnscar or any other member of the Nine.
Abilities and Powers
Mimi is a pyrokinetic who can teleport herself freely through flames and becomes increasingly psychopathic the more fire she is using. She is also completely fireproof.<ref name="11.c" />
Mimi's pyrokinesis is extremely versatile. She created concussive fire blasts capable of knocking over the Undersiders and Bitch's Dogs,<ref name="13.3" /> shot twin flamethrower-like streams of fire from her hands,<ref name="11.c" /> and sent fire "snaking" across water.<ref name="13.3" /> She shaped her fire into foot-high images of characters in her comic books<ref name="I13.5" /> and of her memories while reading.<ref name="12.x" /> She could put out her fires at will,<ref name="I13.5" /> create walls of fire,<ref name="I13.5" /><ref name="13.4">Snare 13.4</ref> and leave burning footprints that widened into a trail of fire.<ref name="11.c" /> She could also throw fireballs<ref name="12.x" /> that could punch holes through walls<ref name="11.c" /> by summoning fire to her palms and hurling it.
Using her power adjusts the chemical balances and connections in her brain to reduce her empathy, impulse control, and emotion, so she "can’t help" using her power if there’s fire nearby. This creates a cycle where Mimi is increasingly unlikely to stop using her power the more she uses it.<ref name="11.c" />
Mimi's eyes glowed<ref name="10.6" /> orange when she activated her power.<ref name="11.c" />
History
Background
Mimi was a patient at the same asylum as Labyrinth. She looked back on their conversations as treasured moments, and saw her as a friend, although the guards used Elle as an enticement to make her cooperate. When Labyrinth was freed by Faultline’s Crew<ref name="5.x">Interlude 5</ref>, Mimi escaped as well, spending some time on the streets. <ref name="11.c"/>
When she used her power to scare off a pimp who was harassing her, she lost control of her emotions, killing him and trapping herself in a feedback loop. Shortly thereafter, the Slaughterhouse Nine found her during one of her psychotic episodes. With her conscience and empathy being suppressed, she found them good company, by the time Mimi cleared her head however she had a kill order.<ref name="11.c"/>
Post-Leviathan
Burnscar visited Brockton Bay as a member of the Slaughterhouse Nine. She didn't nominate anyone to join.<ref name="12.x"/> However, she was excited to come,<ref name="11.g">Interlude 11g (Anniversary Bonus)</ref> hoping to meet Labyrinth there.<ref name="11.c"/>
She rescued Mannequin when he was losing against the Undersiders.<ref name="13.3">Snare 13.3</ref><ref name="13.4"/>
When one of the Nine's captive had a second trigger event, Burnscars's head was crushed by the parahuman's newly manifesting power.<ref name="13.9">Snare 13.9</ref>
Post-Timeskip
Burnscar was cloned as part of the The Slaughterhouse Nine-Thousand, although the clones were never shown in combat.<ref>25.x</ref>
