Chapter List

5.x (Interlude; Citrine) is the thirteenth chapter of Shadow and the second interlude. Jeanne and Kurt Wynn brief the other mayoral candidates: Bet is irradiated, mass immigration needed. After mixed reception, Jeanne’s past is explored. The couple and kin seek the Dealer but find Teacher has claimed his resources. Cauldron endures.

Plot

Major Events

  • The Dealer comes in from the cold and is invited back.
  • Teacher is making himself known.

Trivia

  • Ongoing effects of Gold Morning on Human culture are seen. With New Brockton being called the "Platinum standard", and the Wynn's wedding rings being made from Damascus steel. All used to avoid gold and it's implications.
  • The Wardens are mentioned committing resources to saving people stuck within various time barriers. The implications if any are interesting.<ref>“The Wardens didn’t ask us before they signed off on this, yet they have people devoted to idiotic things like rescuing people from time bubbles and loops. - Excerpt from Interlude 5x II</ref>
