Leader of the ABB. Serving a life sentence in the Birdcage.
Kenta is the leader of the Azn Bad Boys.

Background:
Lung describes himself as being of mixed race in Interlude 6. He also notes he had been in prison before he came to America.
Originally, Lung was just the leader of a small-time street gang before triggering while suffering a drug overdose while fighting Contessa. He was sent to prison in the East and eventually escaped, making his way to America, where he defeated and absorbed a number of sub-gangs, retaining all the Asian members.
Appearance:
Lung is a tall, half-Chinese, half-Japanese man with tattoos of dragons running up his arms, back and neck. He wears an ornate metal mask and a pair of jeans.
Abilities and Powers:
Lung has a power that lets him gradually transform over the course of a conflict, gaining armor plating, enhanced strength, regeneration, claws, enhanced pyrokinesis, and other benefits.  At the most extreme end of his transformation, he is capable of trading blows with an Endbringer, though he has only participated in one such fight.

History
History
Lung was originally a member of a Chinese gang, of which several members were powered. However, after an encounter with Contessa, every member of the gang except for Lung was killed. Lung would have died as well, his face pushed into a block of an unidentified drug, had he not triggered.
[Coming Soon]

Lung fought Leviathan at some point before the events of the story. While he lost, for a time he was sufficiently powerful to hold his own in both durability and offensive power.

Lung later arrived in Brockton Bay, where he amassed a gang of every local Asian, including several powered lieutenants. For a long time, his gang was the most powerful in the area.

During Skitter's first night out as a cape, she encountered and fought Lung. While she was unable to defeat him, she inflicted a massive amount of damage to him, and he was taken prisoner by Armsmaster, where the sedatives placed on him suppressed his regenerative abilities.

He later appeared during the Hive arc, in a far more powerful form. He easily defeated Sundancer, Kaiser, and Menja, but was once again defeated by Skitter, this time using a catterpillar soaked in hallucinogenic fluids from Newter. Upon his defeat, he was sent to the Birdcage.

As his first act in the Birdcage, he killed Bakuda to prove himself too unstable to be bothered by other inmates. Despite this, he formed a bond, if not friendship, with Marquis.

When the Birdcage was opened to bring out the inhabitants as reinforcements against Scion, he was one of them who took part. His powers let him hold his on for a while, but were not enough to do serious damage.

In the epilogue, his last known status is as a mercenary in the service of Teacher.
Trigger Event
Lung triggered March 2nd 1997 after being forced to ingest a lethal amount of powdered drugs by a woman whose description matches Contessa (at the time acting as a bodyguard to another woman matching Doctor Mother 's description).

Powers and Abilities
Lung's power can be charged up for a period of time, and then released during a fight. Over the course of the expenditure of his power, Lung undergoes a number of physical changes, such as armor, claws, a tail, and even wings during later stages. He is also an extremely powerful regenerator, and a pyrokinetic whose ability increases as the rest of his powers do.

*Lung brings up his mixed ancestry and notes the prejudice he faced in his first stint in prison. This prejudice/background, coupled with the fact that he recruited a gang of multiple races (Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese) and his recruitment of Bakuda (a half Asian) all point to one of the things that drives/drove him, subconciously or consciously.

Trivia

  • Lung's codename is a reference to the dragons of Eastern mythology, which are known as the Lóng or the Lung, usually with a prefix or suffix, such as T'ien-lung or Lung-wang.
    • The reason for taking this codename is likely his resemblance to dragons after he's transformed, with scales, wings (eventually) and the ability to produce flame (though it bears noting that dragons from Eastern mythology don't necessarily breathe fire). Lung may have taken this name because Dragon was already in use, because of racial pride, or a combination of the two.
