History
The Merchants were first introduced in Hive 5.1 as an unnamed group led by Skidmark. They primarily only held onto small tracts of territory that other villainous organizations did not care for. Their business relied on making and selling drugs, including to children.
Following Leviathan's devastation on Brockton Bay, they rose to prominence as more people fell in line with them due to the lack of ulitities, public services, and supplies. This increase in numbers allowed them to maraud Brockton Bay, "robbing, raping, pillaging and stealing."
