Chapter List

Worm is the first web serial published by John C. McCrea AKA Wildbow, and can be found here. It has roughly 1.75 million words.

History

The story began with Gestation 1.1 on June 11 2011, and ended with Interlude: End on November 19 2013.

Wildbow followed Worm by writing two unrelated web serials, Pact and Twig. Twig is currently in progress, but nearing its end. Worm itself is being edited and prepared to reach the standards of professional publishing houses.<ref>Post on Pig's Pen</ref>

A sequel to Worm is planned to begin soon after Twig concludes.

Trivia

  • Topped out at roughly 1.74 million words.
  • The word "Worm" is one of the oldest words in the English language. It was originally meant to be a placeholder but eventually settled into being the main title.<ref name="16.6 c1">It was a placeholder name for a while, “Worm”, and I wound up sticking with it. In retrospect, I rather like it.
