After her parents divorced, Kayden was given custody of Aster, with Kaisers consent. She was briefly taken into social services after [[Coil]] revealed the true names of various members of the [[Empire Eighty-Eight]], but was eventually returned to Purity.

Aster, alongside her brother Theo, had their lives threatened by [[Jack Slash]]. Theo managed to talk his way out of both of their deaths, by striking up a deal with Jack.<ref>[[Interlude 11b]]</ref>

After the [[Slaughterhouse Nine]] returned to [[Earth Bet]], Aster was sought out by them, and kidnapped by [[Gray Boy]].
