Charley is capable of generating an effect around her that either dampens inertia, protecting and slowing things in the area, or accelerating them to prompt faster, less controlled movement. She can affect herself independently of the general effect, with some benefits of a dampening effect alongside the benefits of acceleration, justifying. Machinery tends to fail or work intermittently within her field.
