Or he could fork realities at some point during the meeting, and choose to flip a coin (and introduce his power) or not; if it lands heads, that's a win, if not, he's just lost a few seconds and can try again. 99% chances he won't have to try that more than 7 times in a row to get a head.

Note that he "double checked" if Taylor was ready to catch it, which may well be the sign of a failed flip. The part where Taylor flipped her own coin may be trickier --- but again, he could fork, and delay the throw in one reality.
