Interlude 15.x II is the tenth chapter of Dying, and the second Interlude.

Plot

Sveta and Swansong have gone to the second floor, as per Contessa's instructions from the previous chapter. A Harbinger clone has also gone with them, not previously mentioned by Contessa. They fight and take out an elite thall group, led by the Wasp Commander. Sveta and the Harbinger clone continue towards the Dragonslayers, while Swansong presumably continues towards Valkyrie.

Mischa and Saint, respectively piloting the Halo and Winged mechs, engage Legend and his group of more than 40 capes. They manage to take out the cape that could project pyramid-like forcefields, and get an opportunity to fully finish them off, but Teacher intercepts and tells them to back off. This is because Teacher believes he may get a chance to convert Legend to his side later. Mischa and Saint feign being damaged more than they actually are, and they back off to a platform higher up, where they intend to patch up the mechs. Here, they are intercepted by Sveta and the Harbinger clone. Sveta attacks Saint, lacerating him. She steals the override key, and overrides Saint's mech so that Lookout can take control of it. Lookout also almost takes over Mischa's craft, but he does a hard-reset, forcing him to then pilot everything manually and decreasing his abilities. Lookout forces Saint's craft to crash into a wall below. Saint jumps after it, trying to save it, and almost dies. Mischa saves him, holding Saint in the dragoncraft's hands. Legend, finally free from the assault, approaches them. Mischa surrenders.

Sveta and the Harbinger clone talk on the platform above. She is suspicious of him, realizing that the reason he is even there is odd. He admits that the Harbinger clones are planning to take her out, except for him. He claims to be the one Harbinger clone that wants to help her. They both go to rendezvous with the others.

Major Events

• Sveta still can take a major beating.
• The battle itself is the trigger of Teacher's superweapon.
• The angels are down for good, Legend was released from stalemate.
