Baumann Parahuman Containment Center

The Baumann Parahuman Containment Center, the "Birdcage" for short, is a prison for parahumans that have committed crimes severe enough that they must be removed from society. It is not designed to allow prisoners to leave after they have been imprisoned within it.

It is the main focus of Arc 6's interlude, which narrates several prisoners being taken to the Birdcage. It also reveals that the Birdcage was built by Dragon.

• It was presumably built before 2002, given that Teacher refers to Marquis being there for eleven years, after being released in 2013.
  • This represents a potential plot hole: Before Leviathan attacked Newfoundland in 2005, Dragon served only as an AI assistant to Richter and probably did not have the resources create the Birdcage.
