Colin Wallis was a parahuman and the leader of Brockton Bay's Protectorate.

Until he developed a relationship with Dragon, he had no personal life—any time not spent on his official duties was spent training or working on his equipment.

As Armaster:

Armsmaster's costume consists of midnight-blue body armor with silver highlights and a visor that covers his eyes and nose. He wears a neatly trimmed beard.

Powers:

Collin is a Tinker that specializes in miniaturization and efficiency. He fights with his halberd heads-up display that incorporates a combat style simulation and a lie detector, among other features.

Halberd:

Armasters' Tinker specialization has allowed him to miniaturize the technology he creates which he then outfits his Halberd with.

Immediately before Leviathan attacks, he creates a modification to his Halberd which uses nanomachines to cut through anything by destroying molecular bonds.

History:

Collin first met Taylor Hebert on her first night out as a cape after he had subdued the weakened Lung. He convinced her to keep her part in the gangster's apprehension a secret which, incidentally, allowed him to take credit. Unfortunatley, Collin got into trouble when Lung began to suffer from severe tissue damage while in PRT custody. It was this event that soured his relationship with her and, when Taylor offered to become the Protectorate's mole in the Undersiders, he refused.

After Leviathan's attack on Brockton Bay, he was silently placed under house arrest at the PRT Headquarters for breaking the truce twice. He had arranged the death of villians to give himself a one-on-one shot against the Endbringer and then outting Taylor as a reverse mole.

After he was locked up for breaking the Endbringer truce, the Slaughterhouse Nine tried to recruit him to their gang of murderers. Instead, with Dragon's help, he broke out of house arrest, rebuilt his body with cybernetics, and under the name "Defiant" fought alongside her to bring the Nine to justice.

He, Dragon, and the Brockton Bay Wards later try capturing Taylor when she visits Arcadia High, outting her in the process.

When PRT DIrector Tagg and Alexandria, Defiant and Dragon move Taylor from the PRT HQ in Brockton Bay and convince her to become a hero.

During the Golden Morning, Defiant is the one to activate the Tinker device that finally kills Scion.
