They shared her memories, but, like all Echidna clones, felt a driving desire to destroy everything their original cared about.

History

Post-Slaughterhouse Nine

When Echidna's "other self" took over, Echidna managed to capture Tecton. When she came back from her vision, she had spat out two clones of Grace.<ref>Her minions surrounded her: two copies of Trickster; a skinny girl with long dark hair, covering herself with her arms and a carpeting of rodents, Skitter; a Grue; a Regent; two blondes who would be copies of the girl in white; four of the civilians, and one she didn’t recognize as any of the civilians she’d absorbed. The tinker. Eight of them in all. - Excerpt from Interlude 18</ref> Echidna employed multiple Grosses in her attack on Coil's base. One Gross shielded bullets shot by Miss Militia, deflecting them with her hands.<ref>Miss Militia didn’t even stand before opening fire. Twin assault rifles tore into the ranks of the clones as she emptied both clips, reforged the guns with her power, and then unloaded two more clips. Several clones were avoiding the bullets more by sheer chance than any effort on their part. One Grace-clone managed to shield the bullets, moving her hands to block the incoming fire. It is assumed that they were all killed during or after the Battle against Echidna.

Trivia

Gross is only named in the tags of the chapters she appears in.
While grace means beauty and finesse, the name gross can either mean something repulsive or describe something lacking fine details such as gross motor skills, which don't require fine coordination.
