After being freed in order to help battle Scion, he kidnaps Dragon, repairing the damage done by Armsmaster in removing her restrictions. While all her original restrictions are removed, new ones are put in place to prevent her from interfering with his plans.  After Scion is defeated Teacher is able to gain access to his own personal world, blocking off all travel to and from that planet without his permision. He has spent the time since amassing an army of thinkers and tinkers using his power, and has begun making moves towards some vague goal. During a discussion with Marquis, it is hinted that he is perhaps trying to revive the entities in some shape or form.

Personality

Teacher's motivations are never revealed, as Teacher shows a proclivity for long term planning and chicanery allows for great obfuscation of his larger motivations.

Appearance

Teacher is described as a mundane looking man with a receding hairline with short-cut curly hair.

Abilities and Powers

Teacher possesses the ability to grant people a wide variety<ref name="R1">Comment by Wildbow on Reddit</ref> of minor Thinker and Tinker powers or enhance an existing power.

These powers are temporary, requiring Teacher to renew them after an indeterminate period of time, but grant him control over the people he gives them to. According to Tattletale, his power is addictive.

Teacher once specialized in renting out capes that could shape, limit or refine powers, and using his power to do the same, before people discovered his influence over his "students".<ref name="I28">Interlude 28</ref>

The power of an ability granted inversely correlates with diminished faculties in the subject and duration, creating a dynamic where the more information a given 'student' possesses, the less able they are to express it.<ref name="R1">Comment by Wildbow on Reddit</ref>

List of grantable powers
  • Enhanced reflexes
  • Enhanced awareness of environment/cause and effect in environment

  • Clairvoyant radar. As above, but other way around.
  • Enhanced skill in navigation, direction, intuiting nature of environment (sense of how building is laid out, etc.), abstract.
  • Ability to focus on target over long period of time to get Tattletale-esque data on them, initially intermittent/vague, then pick up more later. May be biased toward future/past events, or may be current state.

History

Background

As of the start of Worm, Teacher is already imprisoned in the Birdcage. This is due to Teacher having masterminded the assassination of a US Vice President and a British Prime Minister, among other targets, through setting up pawns and giving them the thinker abilities they needed to be useful.

Gold Morning
