History

Background

Galvanate was a mob enforcer before he triggered in the early 90s; he and his underlings were fighting a powersuit-wearing Tinker from an enemy gang bombarding them with incendiary shells and missiles, causing fire to spread and sections of building to come down.<ref name="comment">Reddit comment by Wildbow</ref>

After he triggered, Galvanate became the boss, supplanting the local organized crime and using his ability to empower his soldiers.<ref name="27.3" /> Eventually, he was caught and incarcerated in the Birdcage, where he eventually became one of the leaders of a men's cell block.<ref name="I16">Interlude 16 (Donation Bonus 3)</ref>

Golden Morning

Galvanate was one of the many capes freed from the Birdcage to help defend against Scion, in the hope that his powers could nullify Scion's attacks.<ref name="27.3" /> He provided his invincibility to Alexandria, Gavel, Gentle Giant, and a Birdcaged parahuman that Weaver didn't recognize, increasing those capes' natural defenses.<ref name="27.4">Extinction 27.4</ref>
