Cherish dances down a street in Brockton Bay and receives compliments from a concerned citizen, who then offers her a lift in his jeep.

She muses on the candidates the Nine have chosen for their recruitment, as well as some other interesting capes, before emotionally compelling her companion and some other bystanders into suicide.

Cherish reunites with Regent and they discuss how they've been since they left their father's company, whilst engaging in a battle of wills over Coil's minions under Regent.

Regent resents his candidacy and believes Cherish is making a mistake and threatens to retaliate against her; Cherish wins the argument because she has a bomb on a dead man's switch. She also threatens his team, who despite his sociopathic tendencies due to their shared upbringing, he has been shown to care about.

Cherish then leaves and muses on her plan to soon have control over the Nine.
