Migration 17.3 is the third chapter of Migration. The group hunkers down and tempers flare up. Krouse kills a bird, and they find out they are the aliens here.
Plot[edit]
As the Travelers continue their escape from The Simurgh, they break into an abandoned house. Tensions are rising within the group as Noelle Meinhardt's condition worsens and Jess is hiding information from everyone else. Once the group settles into the house, she begins to explain that the Simurgh affects people's minds with her scream and the group is currently being affected. Krouse sees evidence of this as he explores the house and finds a pet bird banging its head against its cage. He realizes the Simurgh's effects may be more serious.
Krouse goes to the kitchen to get drinks for the group, and when he returns, he tells Jess that he thinks she's lying. She continues to dodge questions, though, and the group is distracted by gunfire and a monster outside.
Krouse checks on Noelle, who still isn't doing well. He asks Marissa to perform a more thorough checkup, and while she does so, Krouse and Cody get into an argument about Noelle, the Simurgh, and the situation. Krouse de-escalates by finding tools to use as weapons for him, Cody, and Oliver. When they return to Marissa, she shows them Noelle's abdomen, which needs immediate medical care.
Krouse decides to leave the house to look for a doctor along with Cody and Marissa. As he leaves, he notices that the streets are almost empty, as if the fight against the Simurgh has been going on for a while. He realizes what Jess isn't telling them: the group has been teleported to Earth Bet.
